The Breakdown

Image
The thoughts and glimpses of the past and the pain which I had suffered long ago were dancing again in front of me. I wanted to get over it once and for all. “Hi.” The message popped up on the projector as I was giving the client a demo. Soon after, another message appeared: "How are you doing these days, miss?” Excuse me, I muttered as I hurried to log out the social media app on my laptop, which had remained open from the action I took last night. Those messages invited a playful smile on everyone’s face. Ignoring the embarrassment, I quickly finished rest of the presentation and raced my steps out of the room. “So how are you doing these days, miss? Let's have dinner tonight,” whispered a high-pitched, thin, playful tone behind my back. It was Genny. I turned back and smacked her shoulder with my laptop. “Shut up, its nothing like that!” I replied as I defended my privacy from being invaded. Genny has moved to New York for many different reasons. She wanted some change in...

The salty water.

The water felt cold, colder than the beer that I had last night at airport. The chilled fresh breeze and the icey cold water made chill ran down my spine.  We fasten our steps towards the beach. I didn’t want to get late and miss the moment. That moment was more important than starting of any movie. That was the moment to behold. In no time I was standing there, just on the entry gate of the beach. On one side there was a concrete road and on the other side it was this huge, endless, vast beach covered with clouds and breeze. As I put my first step towards the beach, I felt a whole new soul has entered into me. I wasn’t the same person that moment anymore. My heart was filled with over whelming contentment and my worries were carried by the swift breeze far to the horizon. I was still away from the water but I was moving towards the gate of wisdom. Each step towards the beach opened a new window for my dragons to fly. It was all happening inside me. The tornados, the drag...

November Night(unforgettable calamity)

Image
A hope to escape out of this place and to see our families again. A hope to fulfill the dreams we dreamed of. A hope to live again! I clearly remember Room No 11 it was. That night near about 10:20pm (IST) we all were sitting in a room clinging to one another. 30 pair of frightened sleepless eyes with a clueless mind and hearts beating with the same pace and with the same question, “what will happen now?” The entire room was filled with the silence of graveyard. I know its hard to believe, 30 girls in a room with the pin drop silence(historic moment, see!). No inverter, no emergency lights but some week sleek small candles were all we had, which were the left overs of the Diwali that we celebrated previous month. We lit a candle outside our room and one inside to see each other’s face in the dark night. I was sitting in the middle of my group, holding Vaishali’s arm tightly with my head stitched to her shoulder. I was the most frightened soul in the entire group. The ...

We ignored the red alert of the nature !! We were    given a hint... But Alas !! Fortune had its own mischievous tricks to play. It was coming......................... !! Everything comes to life, when planet Earth experiences a lovely shower. The soil emitts it's true fragrance when intermingled with the heavenly drops. Leaves and flowers radiate their bold colours out of sheer happiness. Humans like me, spread their arms, close their eyes and gaze at the sky.... Welcoming every kiss from nature on their bodies. But that day, it wasn't the case !! It was my first November in Chennai, November 2015 !! When as usual, I slipped in my blanket with the rain falling on my window pane. My sleep was disrupted with a frightening hustle and shivering voices of my friends and roomates. 8:23 am(IST), my phone reflected the time with a notification of "battery low" , 13% remaining !!  No electricity since last night. As I stepped out of my room, I was amazed...
