The Space Bar

We were never taught the meaning of SPACE in our lives, we were never taught we would ever need some.                                      I really love the word SPACE. It's fascinating; while we were growing up, we were told many times by our teachers to give right amount of space between the letters while writing. Right amount of Space is important to make your writing look nice, and readable. That’s what kids are being told when they are learning to write, right?  As we climbed the ladders from kindergartens to primary, we were introduced to huge digital boxes which we used to call desktop computers. There we got to know the longest key on the keyboard is the Space bar/ Space key which we need to press each time whenever we used to write something in a word file. I always used to wonder, why did they make the space bar so long? What might be the significance behind it? It could ...

And I Grew Up Silently!

I crossed my arms across my chest and wiped my salty tears. I gasped heavily to collect the shattered pieces together . Somewhere at 11:45 in the night, I sat on the same bench in the park where things once started. I decided to visit Chennai again. Years have passed and everything was changed. I was standing on the Chennai Airport yet again, waiting for my friend to receive me. I felt the same warmth and love as I entered the city after years. It felt like home coming. "Hey you, who are you looking for?" asked a person in a shrilling voice behind my back and I knew who exactly it was. I turned around with huge grin and eyes filled with love waiting to see her stupid face again. Ohh my "Delhiee ki Billie" (Delhi’s cat, a name given by her to me). I missed you so much bitch, said Malini. I hugged her tightly. Her gajra smelled exactly how it used to do 3 years ago. I fixed my gaze over her face for a while and said with a gasp, "You haven’t changed a bit Mallu. Not by any chance." Ma...
